Mulla Naseeruddin: A muslim must recite the kalma !
Arya: What is contained in it?
Mulla Naseeruddin: There are 6 in all. The 1st says :There is no god but Allah, [and] Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
The 2nd says: I testify that (there is) no partner for Him. And I testify that certainly Muhammad (is) His worshipper and His Messenger.
Arya: What is the proof that Mohammed is the messenger of Allah?
Mulla N: The proof is here:
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:
(the mother of the faithful believers) The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah’s Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, “I do not know how to read.
The Prophet added, “The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, ‘I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?’ Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, ‘Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.” (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah’s Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” Khadija replied, “Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.”
Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin ‘Abdul ‘Uzza, who, during the PreIslamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, “Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!” Waraqa asked, “O my nephew! What have you seen?” Allah’s Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, “This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out.” Allah’s Apostle asked, “Will they drive me out?” Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, “Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly.” But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while.
Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah Al-Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet “While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira’ sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, ‘Wrap me (in blankets).’ And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran):
‘O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!’ Arise and warn (the people against Allah’s Punishment),… up to ‘and desert the idols.’ (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly.”
Arya: Did anyone else see Jibril ? I mean is their any other witness ?
Mulla: NO ! Jibril was visible to him alone. See:
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 48
Narrated Abu Huraira:
One day while the Prophet was sitting in the company of some people, (The angel) Gabriel came and asked, “What is faith?” Allah’s Apostle replied, ‘Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection.” Then he further asked, “What is Islam?” Allah’s Apostle replied, “To worship Allah Alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat) and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan.”…………Then that man (Gabriel) left and the Prophet asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet said, “That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion.” Abu ‘Abdullah said: He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith.
Arya : So a muslim must believe this story in which a man comes and says that he saw an angel -Gabriel/ jibril who gave him the message of allah/god. His wife believes him and takes him to her old and blind cousin who is a christian [and dies a christian] for support, who readily agrees that it was jibril!
Frankly speaking, this is a family affair, where each one is taking care of the others ‘beliefs’ !!
Mulla: Then u tell how vedas were revealed?
Arya: The vedas were revealed not to one but 4 rishis, each was a witness to the other 3.
Rishi Dayanand says [http://www.aryasamajjamnagar.org/chapterseven.htm] :
Q 36. Whose hearts did God reveal the Vedas in?
A.-“In the beginning, God revealed the four Vedas, Rig, Vayu, Sama, and Atharva, to Agni, Vayu, A’ditya and Angira, respectively.” SHAPATHA BRAHMAN 11: 4,2,3.
Q.But it is written in the Shwetashwetar Upanishad, ” In the beginning God created Brahma and revealed the Vedas in his heart.”
SHWETA UPANISHAD 6:18. Why do you say that they were revealed to Agni, and other sages?
A.- Brahma was instructed in the knowledge of the Veda through the medium of the four sages , such as Agni. Mark what Manu says: “In the beginning after human being had been created, the Supreme Spirit made the Vedas known to Brahma through Agni, etc., i.e., Brahma learnt the four Vedas from Agni, Vayu, A’ditya and Angira.” MANU: 1/23
Thus the vedic dharma stands on solid ground where the knowledge revealed to one rishi is checked and corroborated by 3 other rishis.
You are a blind follower of a man who was unsure and fearful of his experiences in the cave of Hira. He was convinced by his wife’s christian cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin ‘Abdul ‘Uzza that Gabriel/jibril came to him from allah for instructing him.
Therefore the recognition of Angel Gabriel [and hence Islam] rests on the testimony of a single blind old christian cousin of the wife of Mohammed [who did not convert to Islam in his lifetime]. At this juncture, we should ask the following 3 basic questions:
Q: What is the proof that Gabriel/jibril exists??
Q: What is the proof that Waraqa bin Naufal was correct in his identification of Gabriel/jibril ?
Q: Why didn’t the messenger of allah recognize gabriel? [ Hence Waraqa is wiser than Mohammed and therefore Mohammed is not the prophet.]
Mulla: I will find out and tell . I shall leave now.
Arya: I hope u will not bear false witness until u find the answers to the above 3 questions.
